Cody McCafferty

Cody McCafferty is an Orlando-based saxophonist, keyboardist, live arranger, and in-demand sideman working across jazz, R&B, fusion, pop, rock, and contemporary commercial music. His credits working with artists include but are not limited to Joey Fatone, Benny Benack III, Keba, John Lumpkin, Benny Friedman, Bria Skonberg, Matis Picard, Dian Diaz, Scott Wilson and Alex Kilroy, alongside Tony and Juno Award winners and #1-charting jazz and rock artists. He has performed at major elite venues with a few favorite selections being a JALC–sponsored tour, EPCOT’s Garden Rocks concert series, Judson's Live in Orlando, and at Small’s Jazz Club in New York City.

A multi-instrumentalist and arranger, Cody brings the versatility to move seamlessly between saxophone, keys, horn section writing, and musical direction. He is the founder and musical director of REAL TIME, a high-level contemporary jazz fusion ensemble featuring elite sidemen including Elec Simon of Pieces of a Dream and world-class bassist/artist LaVon Rushing. His work in bandleading/event direction has taken him from producing shows at intimate jazz rooms to major concert stages and productions, with credits spanning Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Epic Universe, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and premier properties including the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, and JW Marriott. On top of those credits, Cody frequently collaborates on event design for marquee clients like SpaceX and the NFL.

Known for musicianship, versatility, and professionalism, Cody is a sought-after collaborator for artists, musical directors, and productions that demand a high level of performance. Whether on stage with an established artist, arranging for a horn section, or leading his own ensemble, he brings the preparation, adaptability, and musical instincts expected of a first-call sideman and leader.

REAL TIME is an Orlando-based fusion collective led by saxophonist Cody McCafferty, bringing together a supergroup of the city’s finest musicians with extensive artistic resumes for a living, breathing musical experience. This all-star lineup includes LaVon Rushing (bass), Elec Simon (percussion), Noah Charles (guitar), Dante Drumbar (drums), and Collin Oliver (keys). The band’s vision is bringing a modern edge to fundamentals rooted in tradition, and with that REAL TIME creates a unique place for their sound driven by musical chemistry, spontaneity, and the vibe of the day.
